South East Asia (Singapore) Diary 9 November 2001
Home

I ran out of things to do today, so I spent most of it asleep in my air-con dorm bed (which was relatively bug free this time). I wandered down to the main river-front area, called boat quay, in the evening. This is where all the 'high fliers' hang out, and a pint of Old Speckled Hen ( an English beer) will cost you S$11 a pint (around four pounds fifty). Orchard Road is marginally more affordable with some nice little bars to wander around in (and most of them play live music which is great to hear). I'm off to Malaysia tomorrow.

I will be coming back to Singapore, and I'm going to (try to) reserve judgement about the place until I've taken a second look...

(Go straight to Singapore for the second time...)

To tomorrow...
