I got loads done today

We went out and had some excellent Indian food tonight at the Mehre Da Dhaba on Cleaveland street in Surry Hills. Excellent food - highly recommended. There are a few restaurants along the street. We rounded off the meal with some sweets from the Maya Sweet centre a couple of doors down. Well, the others did, I went on a bit of a hunt for kulfi (indian ice cream that I got a real liking for whilst in Ahmedabad).

Eating out is Sydney is generally a really great experiance. However, I've come across a bit of a problem - overcharging. This has happened too many times for me to just put it down to an 'honest' mistake. Virtually every restaurant that I've been in to (perhaps it's me...?) has added spurious items to the bill. It really, really annoys me. The extra item is allways taken off with a quiet, 'oh sorry' when it's pointed out, but why is it there in the first place? My (English, too polite to make a fuss) response is to take my tip away, which does get some rather off looks sometimes.

Please, Sydney restaurants (oh, and the place that I went to in Melbourne that tried to do it to me as well), Stop overcharging. Grrrrrr.

To tomorrow
