Leaving the National Park behind, we sped down the coast as far as Barrytown. There's not a huge amount (according to the tour company) of stuff to see on this section of the trip, apart from the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki. The rocks were renamed 'jagged rocks' by a rather disappointed member of the tour, who we think was rather expecting to see raspberry syrup and maybe Chantilly cream topping off these geological marvels. To be honest though, they don't look much like pancakes - and much more like jagged rocks (but without the cream)! Here we got to see a 'working' blow hole, unlike the one that Em, Jen, Jamie and myself traveled to see in Oz just before I left.

Barrytown's a pub. That's more or less it.

To tomorrow
